Job profile
As a linux administrator you will be assisting the infrastructure engineer with giving the final touch to
the existing infrastructure to ensure a successful release of the web platform, by improving its
stability, security, and performance. This will involve tasks such as reviewing deployment and backup
scripts, securing installed packages and tweaking the configuration to optimize performances.


Requirements

Requiered skills:

• Advanced linux administration skills (ideally ubuntu server 10.04)
• Strong bash scripting skills
• Experience with deploying and maintaining LDAP in a production environment
• Strong knowledge of various ubuntu components such as SSH, iptables, sudoers file etc.
• Ability to review existing configuration and secure packages/services accordingly
• In-depth knowledge of database servers such as MySQL or MariaDB (ideally with
  optimization skills)

Bonus skills:

• Experience with cloud providers (e.g. Rackspace, Amazon EC2, Go Grid etc.)
• Security Certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CEH etc.)
• Professional penetration testing experience
• Content Delivery Networks such as Akamai or limelight
• Load balancing concepts
• Drupal CMS 6+
• Alfresco 3.3+
• Apache Solr 1.4+
• Memcached, APC and other PHP caching tools
• Other web servers/proxies/accelerators such as nginx or varnish
• Monitoring tools such as Nagios and Munin

Offer

A freelance assignment (5 days a week) for 1 month, with a possible extension.
