Business Controller Global Financial Markets for the business control department of an international banking organisation. You will assist in advising the Board and Senior Management of Global Financial Markets on the financial and economic impact of strategic issues.

Job profile: Business Controller Global Financial Markets
Buiness Control is the central Control department of the International bank and is searching for an ambitious and enthusiastic new senior business controller to strengthen her Business Advisory & Control team. In this function as a Business Controller Financial Markets you're focusing on the Global Financial Markets ("GFM") part. In this role the senior business controller will act as point of contact for the COO, board and sr. management of GFM as well as for GFM Business managers who are responsible for the trading & sales activities within GFM.
Control combines regulatory required and management reporting activities and analyses on a periodic and ad hoc basis. These can be of both quantitative and qualitative nature. Control reports to the Managing Board of The Group. It provides the Board, Senior Management and the underlying business with economic and financial advice concerning their world-wide activities. Key element in its success is growing and maintaining a network consisting of product management, regional management, local controllers, Group Control and other entities within the Group.
Activities:
* Co-ordination of the planning & control cycle within his/her focus areas
* Preparing (strategic) management information on a periodic and ad-hoc principle
* Assist in advising the Board and Senior Management of Global Financial Markets on the financial and economic impact of strategic issues
* Solve complex issues and problems from the business
* Developing and maintaining financial and management accounting policies
* Participating in projects


Job Requirements: Business Controller Global Financial Markets
Control is looking for a GFM Business Controller, having both demonstrable strong communicating and analytical skills as well as a feeling for Global Financial Markets operations. The ideal candidate has the ability to understand organizational relations and balances and understands the interdependence between risk and reward.
Functional requirements:
- University degree in Business Economics or Business Administration
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and GFM products
- Understanding of financial processes within an international wholesale bank
- Ability to develop management reports and other relevant management information
- Knowledge of the (new) capital adequacy framework (Basel I/II)
- Fluently in Englis
