Strategic Alliances Manager

American Express is a leading global payments, network and travel company. Global Merchant Services is a core business of American Express, with responsibility for growing and deepening the merchant network accepting American Express Payment products.

This network consists of major, multinational accounts as well as a broad network of locally based merchants in key industries such as hotels, restaurants, retail, e-com, and travel.

For our Netherlands business we are currently seeking a Strategic Alliances Manager. She/he will successfully manage and develop relationships with external acquiring partners, with the objective to acquire new merchants through these partners. Key elements of this role include managing and working closely with each strategic alliances partner driving coverage and profitability KPIs, implementing critical business projects with these partners, and developing joint expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities:

* Drive profitable business growth through merchant acquiring activities with existing and new Strategic Alliances partners.
* Build effective relationships, at all levels, across partner businesses ensuring that American Express goals and objectives are front of mind.
* Develop and implement tailored commercial plans with key partners, to grow our coverage and to increase the value American Express delivers to its merchant customers.
* Ensure that existing and new commercial contracts with Strategic Alliances partners are signed in line with all American Express policies, business goals and applicable law.
* As key coordinator of the relationship, manage mutual SLA’s and compliance requirements, secure customer satisfaction and regularly review and optimize processes with partners.
* Work closely with relevant American Express business units and Centers of Excellence, supporting existing initiatives and identifying / driving new business opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

* Strong track record of relationship management with B2B partners.
* Highly results driven, commercial person – engaging, creative, and ‘hands-on’ mindset.
* Strong innovation- and change agent capacities to overcome obstacles, optimize overall processes related to sales, and develop business strategies to grow coverage.
* Proven ability to translate business results and on-going MIS on KPIs into action.
* Fluent in Dutch and English (verbally and written).
* Impactful presentation skills, e.g. for training larger groups or for senior management.
* Knowledge of the cards payment industry would be a distinct advantage.
* Education: minimum Bachelor / Academic level education or equivalent (Finished).
