This role requires multidisciplinary experience. Primarily, your technical knowledge is put to the test day in, day out. But because every member of the client team is in direct contact with the decision makers at the client (not users), you are not only a technical expert, but also a trusted adviser with excellent communicative skills. Project management experience is useful, but we will never ask you to become a manager. We prefer you get better at IT and reward you accordingly.

Your day to day job consists of making improvements to our existing dedicated environments, but frequent projects require your expertise in designing new highly complex environments for new and existing clients. This means that you and your team start in a green field, and you have one collective goal: sleep. Our choice is often proven technology, but we are considered a strategic business partner for many vendors and therefore are on top of leading technology. Our environments are never limited by cost, we choose the best solution and give off the guarantee that it will work. 24/7.

Gestelde eisen

Your 10+ years working in complex systems has made you the walking Google among your peers. You are considered one of the best in your current working environment, but have often asked yourself: "if only I'd get the chance to design and build something from scratch, I'd build it in a way I can guarantee it will run".
Imagine the entire environment of an online bank for example. What technology choices would you make to design the storage infrastructure. A NetApp, an EMC or another solution? What is best for this particular environment? Do we virtualise? Your experience and knowledge allows for you to make these kind of choices. Taking consultancy to the next level: you also build this and are responsible for the end result. We are looking for a Storage Engineer who knows how to automate IT. Tooling knowledge is very important, but tooling is often insufficient for the kind of environments we design. You understand these limitations: this is where engineering starts.
