Your ideal way of getting an environment to work without flaw, is to design and build it yourself. Fixing mistakes others made is one thing, but why make them in the first place? Wouldn't it be logic to work with a team of kindred spirits whose combined knowledge allow for the underlying infrastructure of internet banks to be designed and built, energy companies to conduct their energy trade, etc? Some proper high-end design is needed to keep these kind of environments available.

You will not only be responsible for the Microsoft, Citrix and Virtulised server environments, but you also have a general understanding of Unix/Liux or SQL environments, the application layer, networks, etc.

Your ideas will not be limited in any way, but team consensus is required for major decisions. After all, it is all about the functional availability of the environment you and your team have designed together.

Gestelde eisen

You are currently living in The Netherlands or have family ties to The Netherlands.
Your 10+ years experience with Server Based Computing have made you who you are today: a true Engineer. You are goal- and solution oriented and ensure you need not administer environments which could have been automated; you consider this a waste of time. Scriping with Perl, Powershell or VB is logical to you. you are an expert on Windows Server, Citrix and virtualised environments, and know storage. You posess a large sense of responsibility. Your communicative skills do not only consist of the ability to have a pleasant conversastion: you are able to defend and share your own ideas with your peers, and have an open mind to theirs. You expect the same from your peers as they expect from you. You are experienced in keeping online applications available at all times and understand network principles. You are prepared to be on-call for 1 week every quarter.

Windows server environments, MS SQL, Citrix, Exchange, IIS, VMware, clustering etc.
You have experience in the design, build and support of VMware ESX Clusters.
vSphere full-flavour
Knoledge of BladeLogic (pre)
Citrix – XenApp, pre XenDesktop
Packaging experience (Wise Package Studio, InstallShield)
Application & Virutalisation on Citrix
Active Directory

Salary: €55.000 - €85.000 per year
